Famiglia

Famiglia was photographed from above as a pod of dolphins moved through the waters of the Maldives.

From the surface, encounters like this can feel fast and chaotic. From the air, the perspective changes completely.

The individual animals begin to form part of something larger - moving in the same direction, adjusting to one another and travelling together through an enormous expanse of blue.

What drew me to this frame was that sense of connection.

Each dolphin is distinct, yet from above they seem almost inseparable, their movements creating a single flowing composition across the water.

Famiglia is a photograph about togetherness - a fleeting view of a group moving through the ocean as one.
