Wildlife, ocean conditions and weather shape each day, so flexibility is part of the adventure. This gives you an idea of the overall rhythm of the trip.

Day 1

Arrival & Settle Into Jangamo

Arrive, settle into Blue Moon Resort, meet the group and prepare for the expedition ahead.

Days 2–8

Diving, Ocean Safaris & Photography

Expedition days revolve around the conditions and wildlife: diving the reefs, heading out on ocean safaris, searching for humpback whales and photographing the marine life of Jangamo Bay. Photography guidance and conservation learning are woven through the experience.

Day 9

Final Expedition Day

A final opportunity to make the most of the wildlife and water conditions, review the experience and enjoy the coastline together.

Day 10

Departure

Check out after the final night and begin the journey home with new photographs, stories and memories from Mozambique.

This is an illustrative itinerary rather than a fixed daily programme. Diving and ocean activities may change according to weather, sea conditions, wildlife activity and operational requirements.

Your Home In Mozambique

Stay At Blue Moon

We'll be based at Blue Moon Resort in Jangamo, surrounded by palm trees and looking out towards the Indian Ocean.

Guests stay in shared bungalows a stone's throw from the PADI 5-star dive centre, with the coastline right outside and the possibility of seeing breaching humpbacks from shore during the season.

Meet Kaush

Kaush is a wildlife conservation biologist (MSc), award-winning wildlife photographer and filmmaker, and experienced expedition leader.

His work brings together wildlife photography, marine ecology and storytelling, with extensive experience photographing and filming marine wildlife above and below the surface.

Throughout the expedition, Kaush will be there to help with photography, storytelling and understanding the wildlife you're experiencing.

Is This Expedition Right For You?

You don't need to be a professional photographer, but there are a few things worth knowing before you join.

Diving

A minimum Open Water certification is required. Conditions and experience requirements are discussed during the application process.

Photography

All photography experience levels are welcome. You do not need professional camera equipment to benefit from the trip.

Solo Travellers

You are very welcome to join alone. Small-group expeditions are designed to make it easy to become part of the group.

Wildlife Mindset

No. The expedition welcomes different photography experience levels. Guidance can be adapted to your equipment, experience and personal goals.

The minimum certification listed for the expedition is Advanced Open Water. Your individual diving experience can be discussed during the application process.

Absolutely. Solo travellers are welcome, and the small-group format makes it easy to become part of the expedition group.

No. The photography experience is designed to support a variety of equipment and skill levels.

Dive equipment is not included in the listed expedition price. Any equipment requirements or rental options can be discussed before the trip.

No wildlife encounter can be guaranteed. The expedition takes place during humpback whale season to give us strong opportunities, but wildlife and conditions always remain unpredictable.

Travel insurance and dive insurance are not included in the expedition price and should be arranged separately.

Your application will be reviewed, availability confirmed and any questions answered. If the expedition is a good fit, you'll receive the information needed to secure your place.
