Behind the Photograph

The story
behind the image.

Perpetual Peaks

Samburu, Kenya · 2021

Perpetual Peaks was photographed across the landscape of Samburu in Kenya in 2021.

What caught my attention was not a single mountain, but the way the landscape seemed to continue indefinitely.

Layers of distant peaks faded gradually into one another, shifting between soft blues and warm yellow tones as they disappeared towards the horizon.

There was very little drama in the scene.

Instead, it was the quietness that stayed with me - the gentle light, the repetition of the mountains and the feeling that the landscape simply carried on beyond anything I could see.

Perpetual Peaks is a photograph about distance and stillness, a softer view of Samburu, where the land seems to unfold without end.
