Elevated View

Elevated View was photographed in Kenya in 2021.

High in the branches of a tree, a female leopard paused to look out across the savannah below.

At the very edge of the frame, the leg of her last kill remained visible, a subtle reminder of what had happened before this quieter moment.

What drew me to the scene was the contrast.

The aftermath of a hunt sat only a few feet away, yet the leopard herself appeared completely composed, surveying the landscape from above as though nothing had happened.

From that elevated position, she seemed perfectly at home, hidden from much of the world below, but able to see far across the open plains.

Elevated View is a photograph about perspective and presence, a glimpse into the private world of a predator between moments of action.
